In the high humidity of the tropical Philippines we added uncooked rice grains to our saltshaker so the salt could shake out and not clump and clog up the holes. How do I relate this to me being salt in this world? I pray:
Spirit of the Living God, draw me close and shape me into the likeness of Jesus. Clothe me with power from on high and fill me with courage. As I step into this day, send me as your witness wherever I may go.1
If I’m to be like Jesus, I’ll
· notice people and offer them dignity and respect
· listen and genuinely engage with their stories
